        Mark Duffield

      1. Mark Duffield is Professor of Development Politics at the University of Bristol and Director of the Global Insecurities Centre, Bristol. Previously he has taught at institutions such as the University of Khartoum, Khartoum and Birmingham University, Birmingham. Duffield has advised numerous governmental bodies and NGOs in development policy, working with organizations such as the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), International Alert, UNHCR (United Nations Human Rights Council), and UNICEF. His recent books include: Empire, Development and Colonialism: The Past in the Present (2009) and Development, Security and Unending War: Governing the World of Peoples (2007).
