        Robert Sember

      1. Robert Sember is an artist, researcher, and member of the sound art collective Ultra-red, which organizes projects around constituencies involved in migrant rights, the AIDS crisis, fair housing, and anti-racism. In 2009–2010 he was a Fellow at the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at the New School, New York City. Sember has taught at Columbia University, New York City; the University of California, Los Angeles; the Center for HIV/AIDS Networking, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban; Ohio University, Athens; and the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam. Recent projects with Ultra-red include: Vogue’ology (2010) on view in the FORMER WEST Research Exhibition Vectors of the Possible, BAK, Utrecht, 2010; a 2009 residency at Raven Row in London, which produced a multi-year series of sound investigations titled School of Echoes; and SILENT|LISTEN, which explored the conditions of the AIDS crisis in the U.S. and Canada, 2005–2008.
