      1. Berlin/Berlin, catalog for the 1st Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, which took place at KW Institute for Contemporary Art and other venues in Berlin (29.09.1998–03.01.1999). The exhibition was curated by Klaus Biesenbach, Hans-Ulrich Obrist, and Nancy Spector. This first iteration of what would become an important European biennale put Berlin officially on the map as an important site for contemporary art production and reflected the (ongoing) hype surrounding the city in the post-89 context. Rife with hot artists and interdisciplinary elements mixing fashion, techno, and street art, the exhibition was widely acclaimed as a summation of the late 1990s ‘Zeitgeist’. Exhibited artists included: Franz Ackermann, Bless, John Bock, Olafur Eliasson, Michael Elmgreen/Ingar Dragset, Gob Squad, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Christine Hill, Thomas Hirschhorn, Carsten Höller, Jonathan Meese, Olaf Nicolai, Manfred Pernice, Tobias Rehberger, Pipilotti Rist, Andreas Slominski, Sean Snyder, SubREAL, Wolfgang Tillmans, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Andrea Zittel, etc.
