      2. Large two-volume catalog of the 48th Venice Biennale, dAPERTutto (APERTO over ALL), curated by Harald Szeemann in the Giardini, Arsenale (and other venues) Venice, 13.06.1999–17.11.1999. This exhibition was important not least because Szeemann expanded it beyond the traditional realm of the Giardini into the Arsenale, a grouping of Renaissance warehouses that came to contain a grouping of contemporary art positions from across the globe, and came to represent a less-traditional venue within this very traditional art event. Exhibited artists included: Ai Weiwei, Dieter Appelt, Kutluğ Ataman, Louise Bourgeois, James Lee Byars, Chen Zhen, Olafur Eliasson, Peter Friedl, Douglas Gordon, Kcho, Lee Bul, Paul McCarthy, Adrian Paci, Sigmar Polke, Ann-Sofi Sidén, Roman Signer, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Sislej Xhafa, Zhang Huan, etc.
