      2. Project documentation accompanying the 5th International Istanbul Biennial, curated by Rosa Martinez, which took place in numerous venues in the city (5.10–9.11.1997). Publication contains installation shots of the works in the biennial with extensive image material, and short excerpted transcripts from a series of panel discussions held as part of the biennial program (on topics such as ‘The Politics of Beauty’, ‘Critique and defense of models of biennials and other mega exhibitions’, and ‘Intertextuality and displacement in contemporary metropolis’. Exhibited artists included: Oleg Kulik, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Kutluğ Ataman, Louise Bourgeois, Yael Davids, Kimmy Durham, Casten Höller, Shirin Neshat, Cai Guo-Quiang, etc. See also the short guide.
