Eisenstein is one of a handful of thinkers whose critique of neoliberal globalization is grounded in a feminist/gender perspective. This book presents an interesting engagement with the so-called West as both a fiction and reality—in other words, as an incomplete and constructed view of the world that does not take into account class, race, gender, and other cultures in its consideration of what constitutes its legitimate interests.
