A compilation of texts exploring the ‘educational turn’ in curatorial and art pedagogy, a quite recent phenomenon with roots in the early 1990s developments in cultural studies and neoliberal reforms in many university systems, among other things. Texts analyze what these changes mean for art education and reception, as well as for the overall professionalization of the art field. See contributions by FORMER WEST researchers Tom Holert, Marion von Osten, and Simon Sheikh plus those by Irit Rogoff, Raqs Media Collective, Tirdad Zolghadar and others.
