An edited volume of the writings of V.I. Lenin during the Russian Revolution, Žižek quite controversially argues for a return to a consideration of Lenin’s thought. The writings, he suggests, present a document of ‘Lenin-in-becoming’—an individual grasping a radical historical possibility. Žižek’s introduction puts the collected writings into historical context, and in the afterword he asks if we can’t recuperate some of Lenin’s key insights to confront the crisis of capitalism.
