This is the long-awaited appearance of the English translation of Groys’s 2005 Das kommunistische Postskriptum. In this short volume, Groys (a FORMER WEST researcher) puts forth the thesis that the post-1989 world finds itself in a condition that could be called ‘post-communist,’ and that contrary to popular assumptions in the West, this condition is a global one that defines the practice of politics and the role of ideology in the contemporary world. Groys grounds this thesis in a detailed discussion of Soviet philosophy and Soviet communist doctrine.
